Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to develop up to 7,000 MW of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and hybrid initiatives. The expected investment for these projects is approximately ₹49,000 crore, positioning it as a major renewable energy initiative in the state. This collaboration aligns with the state's goal of enhancing its renewable energy capabilities, while also aiming to foster local economic growth and job creation.
As part of the agreement, TPREL will conduct feasibility studies and preliminary assessments to evaluate the viability of the projects. The New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) will assist with support in site identification and infrastructure requirements. This initiative is anticipated to significantly boost the state’s renewable capacity and strengthen TPREL’s role in advancing India's clean energy objectives.
