Grasim Industries Limited — Important, 04-03-2025: Commencement of commercial production/operations

The company's Paint plant in Mahad, Maharashtra, has commenced commercial production, marking a significant milestone as the fifth out of six planned green-field plants to begin operations. The new facility has an installed capacity of 180 million litres per annum (MLPA) for water-based paints, 20 MLPA for distemper, and 30 MLPA for solvent-based paints, though the resin manufacturing block is not yet operational. Currently, resin for solvent-based paints is sourced from other plants. With this addition, Grasim Industries’ total capacity for its decorative paint brand "Birla Opus" has now reached 1,096 MLPA. This expansion is set to strengthen Grasim's presence in the domestic market and may present positive growth opportunities for investors.
