Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited — Important, 04-03-2025: Capacity addition

Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd has commenced commercial production of its first rod mill at DICABS NextGen Special Alloys Private Limited in Vadodara. This facility is set to process 80 metric tons (MT) per day, translating to a capacity of 2,400 MT monthly. As part of a greenfield project, the company plans to establish three additional rod mills with a total capacity of 250 MT per day, projected to cost ₹55 crore.

Currently, the company operates a mill with a capacity of 1,200 MT per month. The new addition will significantly bolster the top line by producing AL 59 conductors, a high-efficiency aluminum-based conductor required for power transmission. With an annual market demand of around 1,000,000 MT for AL 59 conductors, DICABS aims to meet this need by contributing 75,000 MT per annum.

The advantages of AL 59 conductors, such as enhanced strength, corrosion resistance, and cost-effectiveness, position DICABS favorably in a competitive landscape where only a few manufacturers currently exist. This expansion highlights a positive outlook for growth in the power transmission sector.
