The Andhra Sugars Limited reported its financial results for the quarter and nine months ended 31 December 2024. The company’s revenue from operations stood at ₹30,503.85 crore, showing a decline from the previous quarter. Total income for the quarter was ₹30,106.96 crore, while the nine-month total reached ₹878.84 crore.

Expenses for the quarter were at ₹29,097.84 crore, leading to a profit before tax of ₹916.28 crore. The net profit after tax was ₹746.02 crore. Notably, the profit for the nine months was impacted by decreased selling prices of caustic soda and its by-products compared to the same period last year.

In a strategic move, the board approved projects at the Saggonda location, including a 6 TPD Sodium Sulphate Recovery Plant anticipated to cost ₹12 crore and a 12 MW Solar Power Project projected at ₹42 crore. These ventures aim to enhance operational efficiency and sustainable energy use, potentially boosting future profitability. Observers should watch closely as these developments unfold, given the implications for growth in the competitive chemical sector.
