Metropolis Clinical Pathology Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Metropolis Healthcare Limited, has entered into a Business Transfer Agreement with Dr. Ashok Kumar Sharma to acquire his pathology laboratories and collection centers in Agra and neighboring towns for a cash consideration ranging from INR 55 crore to INR 83 crore. This acquisition is a strategic move to tap into the growing diagnostic market in Uttar Pradesh, enhancing the company’s presence in the region and improving access to quality healthcare services. The completion of this acquisition, expected within 45 days, will result in the acquisition of all operations under Dr. Sharma’s Scientific Pathology, making it a subsidiary instead of a wholly owned entity. Additionally, Metropolis will fund this acquisition by subscribing to Optionally Convertible Debentures in Metropolis Clinical Pathology. This development presents a positive outlook for the company as it leverages existing local expertise to expand its operational footprint and service offerings.
