NACL Industries Limited — Important, 28-02-2025: General Updates
NACL Industries Limited and its subsidiary NACL Spec-Chem Limited have experienced significant downgrades in their credit ratings by CRISIL. NACL’s long-term rating has been downgraded to ‘Crisil BB+/Negative’ from ‘Crisil BBB-/Negative,’ with its short-term rating dropping to ‘Crisil A4+’ from ‘Crisil A3.’ This downgrade is attributed to weak business performance, highlighted by a net loss of ₹36 crore in the last quarter. Continued liquidity pressures due to lender constraints and elevated debt obligations are expected to hinder growth and financial flexibility.
The promoter has infused ₹35 crore to support operations, with an additional ₹10 crore expected from an investor, subject to approvals. NACL management is also looking to raise further funds through convertible debentures. The company's strengths include its established market presence and strong management, offering a partial buffer against challenges such as high working capital requirements, competition, and regulatory fluctuations. However, the outlook remains negative due to the anticipated ongoing deterioration in business performance.
