The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has terminated its contract with Ceigall India Limited for the construction of the Amritsar connectivity project under the Bharatmala scheme due to significant delays in land acquisition. The contract, valued within a bid project cost of Rs. 1,071 Crore, was originally established for the development of a four-lane Greenfield highway from Dhunda Village to the NH3 junction near Mannawalla. While the company sought to revoke the termination, NHAI confirmed that it would proceed with damages equivalent to 1% of the contract price.
