Tata Power has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Assam Government to develop up to 5000 MW of renewable and clean energy projects, including solar, wind, hydro, and energy storage, with a total investment of ₹30,000 crore over the next five years. This collaboration is aimed at enhancing Assam's clean energy capacity and supporting the state’s ambitious goal of achieving 500 MW of solar capacity by 2027. The Assam Government will assist in identifying approximately 20,000 acres of land for project development and support necessary infrastructure upgrades.

Additionally, Tata Power’s subsidiary has signed another MoU with the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) to promote rooftop solar adoption, contributing to 3000 job opportunities. This initiative aligns with Tata Power’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions and builds towards the wider goal of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity in India by 2030. With a robust track record in renewable projects and the introduction of skill development programs, Tata Power is set to play a critical role in transforming the energy landscape in Assam and beyond.
