HPL Electric & Power Ltd and Wirepas have teamed up to launch an innovative "In-meter gateway," positioned as the first of its kind for RF mesh technology, at Elecrama 2025. This breakthrough solution, integrated within HPL's smart meters, aims to streamline India's Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) by eliminating the need for dedicated gateway devices, significantly reducing costs and installation complexity. The In-meter gateway allows each smart meter to act as a data hub, simultaneously collecting data from up to 300 meters while utilizing a 4G connection to relay information to utilities, ensuring a service level agreement (SLA) of 99.9%.

The partnership leverages HPL's extensive market presence and Wirepas' advanced IoT connectivity, enhancing network efficiency and accuracy in data transmission.
