Prince Pipes And Fittings LimitedCredit Ratings, 21-02-2025: Credit Rating- Revision

21-02-2025 | 11:21 am

Prince Pipes and Fittings Limited (PPFL) has received a credit rating action from CRISIL Ratings, which has reaffirmed its long-term rating at Crisil A+ while revising the outlook to 'Negative' from 'Stable'. The short-term rating remains Crisil A1+. This decision reflects CRISIL's expectation that ongoing weak pricing trends in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin and sluggish demand from end-user sectors will continue to affect the company's business risk profile over the medium term.

Financial performance for the first nine months of FY25 has been challenging, with significant erosion in EBITDA margins that fell to below 6%, down from 11.77% in the same period of FY24. This decline is attributed to lower product prices leading to inventory losses and increased promotional efforts. The working capital cycle has also elongated, with inventory days increasing significantly, though liquidity remains adequate with cash and cash equivalents around ₹126 crore.

Looking ahead, while the immediate outlook appears pressured, there might be a gradual demand recovery supported by improving real estate and infrastructure activities. Strategic focus on enhancing market penetration in eastern India through ongoing capex in Bihar could provide some operational improvement opportunities.

For investors, given the declining profitability and the negative outlook, a cautious approach is advisable, leaning towards holding positions to monitor future performance and market conditions.
