The foundation stone for a new 1,100-bed super-specialty hospital, Narayana Health City, has been laid in New Town, Kolkata. This facility aims to deliver advanced healthcare services in Eastern India, reflecting a significant investment in healthcare infrastructure in the region. The first phase, which will see the addition of 350 beds, is expected to commence operations in FY 2028-29, with total projected investment of approximately ₹900 crore. This initiative is prompted by high patient demand at existing Narayana Health facilities in Kolkata and aims to enhance the quality of clinical care available in West Bengal.
