McNally Bharat Engineering Company Limited has announced a board meeting on 13th November to approve the financial results for the quarter and half-year ended 30th September 2024.

The unaudited standalone revenue from operations for the half-year stood at ₹79.19 crore, reflecting a decline from ₹146.38 crore in the previous half-year, indicating a 45.94% decrease. Key factors contributing to this drop may include reduced demand and operational challenges.

The standalone net loss for the period reached ₹44.06 crore, exacerbated by high finance costs of ₹48.53 crore and operational expenses. Earnings per share (EPS) amounted to a loss of ₹20.27 compared to a loss of ₹41.75 in the prior year, underscoring rising costs without a corresponding increase in revenue.

Operational costs surged by 10.66% compared to the previous half-year, primarily due to an increase in outsourcing and employee expenses. The management's focus on cost control is crucial as the company navigates high financial burdens and continues to explore avenues for efficiency.

The company’s balance sheet shows total assets of ₹197.5 crore with liabilities substantially outweighing equity, at ₹664.29 crore in total current liabilities, indicating a precarious financial position. Cash flow from operations remained negative, highlighting ongoing liquidity challenges exacerbated by significant outstanding debts.

Looking ahead, the strategic focus should lean towards stabilizing operations and implementing the approved resolution plan to regain investor confidence. Given the financial performance and ongoing operational risks, a cautious stance is warranted—considering either a hold or sell action for current investors until clearer signs of recovery materialize.
