18-02-2025 | 09:03 pm

Jana Small Finance Bank Limited reported solid financial performance with total operating income of ₹4,684 crore, representing a 27% increase from ₹3,700 crore in the previous year. Profit After Tax (PAT) surged to ₹670 crore compared to ₹256 crore a year earlier. The bank's Earnings Per Share (EPS) stands at ₹8.42, demonstrating a remarkable increase from ₹3.32.

Operational efficiency improved significantly as the bank maintained a stable Net Interest Margin (NIM) of 7.3%. Total assets rose to ₹32,710 crore, while the bank showed effective cost management, keeping operational expenses stable and reducing credit costs to 2.3% from 3.2%. However, the Gross Non-Performing Assets (GNPA) ratio experienced a slight uptick to 2.80% as of December 31, 2024, from 2.11% in the previous fiscal year, raising some concerns about asset quality.

The asset base reflects robust growth strategies, with total deposits increasing by 38% to ₹22,571 crore in FY24. The proportion of Current Account Savings Account (CASA) remains low at approximately 19.7%, indicating areas for improvement in attracting low-cost deposits.

In terms of strategic positioning, the bank's focus on retail banking and diversification across secured and unsecured segments aligns well with market trends. The outlook remains cautiously optimistic, with a focus on improving CASA ratios and controlling asset quality.

Based on these results, a hold insight seems appropriate as the bank continues to navigate growth opportunities while addressing challenges in asset quality and cost efficiency.
