Airtel has successfully landed the SEA-ME-WE-6 submarine cable system in Chennai, enhancing India's global connectivity significantly. This 21,700 Rkm cable will connect India to key locations in Singapore and France, crossing Egypt, and will add an impressive 220 TBPs of global capacity. The installation, managed by SubCom, comes after the cable was previously landed in Mumbai. Airtel's Director & CEO, Sharat Sinha, emphasized the importance of this project in supporting India's digital growth and global connectivity needs, as the company integrates this new cable into its extensive global network and data center services through Nxtra by Airtel.
