BPCL has entered into a collaboration with the National Sugar Institute (NSI) to develop sweet sorghum as a sustainable biofuel source, committing INR 5 crores for research and development in bioethanol production. This initiative seeks to enhance agricultural practices and ethanol efficiency, aligning with India's Ethanol Blended Petrol Programme, which may foster energy security and rural economic upliftment.

Additionally, BPCL has secured an agreement with Equinor India for the purchase of propane and butane, ensuring a reliable supply of these petrochemical feedstocks at competitive terms.

In a significant move for renewable energy, BPCL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Eco Wave Power to pioneer wave energy projects in India. This partnership will initially focus on a pilot project at BPCL’s Mumbai Oil Terminals, as it looks to leverage its extensive infrastructure in the growing renewable market. These developments reflect BPCL's strategy towards sustainability and reducing reliance on fossil fuels while contributing to India’s clean energy transition. Investors should monitor these advancements as potential growth drivers for BPCL.
