The Board of Directors of Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited has approved the unaudited financial results for the quarter and nine months ended 31st December 2024. The company reported total revenue of ₹1,136.79 crore for the quarter, a decline from ₹1,259.46 crore in the same quarter last year. Unitary EBITDA was ₹65.75 crore compared to ₹155.77 crore in the previous year, while a loss before tax was recorded at ₹64.64 crore, down from a profit of ₹23.30 crore year-on-year. The nine-month performance also showed a decrease in revenue to ₹3,194.51 crore from ₹3,511.14 crore, and a loss before tax of ₹25.54 crore versus a profit of ₹271.36 crore last year. The downturn is attributed to rising wood costs and a significant drop in market prices for paper and paper board. Paper production for the quarter was 99,954 MT, down from 104,065 MT year-over-year.
