UltraTech Cement Limited — Important, 13-02-2025: Updates

UltraTech Cement has recently commissioned an additional 0.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) slag-based grinding capacity at its existing unit in Karur, Tamil Nadu, following the previous commissioning of 2.7 mtpa greenfield grinding capacity in April 2024. This expansion boosts the total plant capacity to 3.30 mtpa, enhancing the company's ability to meet the rising demand for composite cement in the southern region while improving its blended cement ratio.

With this addition, UltraTech's total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity now stands at 166.91 mtpa, complemented by an overseas capacity of 5.4 mtpa, resulting in a global capacity of 172.31 mtpa. This strategic expansion is part of the company’s long-term growth strategy aimed at achieving operational efficiency and sustainability. Investors should view this as a positive development, potentially bolstering future revenue and market presence.
