11-02-2025 | 06:35 pm

Total revenue from operations for GIC Housing Finance Limited reached ₹261.11 crore for the third quarter of FY2024, reflecting a slight decrease from ₹264.04 crore in the previous quarter but an increase from ₹261.11 crore in the same quarter last year. The year-on-year reduction in revenue was influenced by low demand for new loans and minor fluctuations in interest income.

Net profit for the quarter stood at ₹35.60 crore, marking a decline from ₹36.48 crore YoY, though remaining in line with expectations given the market conditions. Consequently, earnings per share (EPS) came in at ₹6.61, unchanged from the previous quarter.

Operational costs rose slightly year-over-year by 1.16%, attributed mainly to higher finance expenses as the company navigated increased borrowing costs. Specifically, finance costs were reported at ₹175.72 crore compared to ₹176.87 crore QoQ and ₹175.87 crore YoY, which reflects the challenges in managing interest expenses effectively.

The balance sheet remains robust, with total assets reported at ₹10,09,982 crore following adjustments for loan impairments, indicating strong asset quality. The debt-to-equity ratio is maintained at 4.50, supportive of a stable liquidity position.

Strategically, GIC Housing Finance is focusing on enhancing loan recovery efforts and cost optimization to mitigate pressure on margins. Market sentiment remains cautiously optimistic, with potential for growth in residential financing expected in the coming quarters.

Given the current financial performance and operational efficiency strategies, a "hold" insight is prudent, as investors may want to monitor the company's positioning in a potentially recovering housing market while remaining cognizant of ongoing economic headwinds.
