Western Carriers (India) Ltd has secured a significant work order worth Rs. 1,089 crore from Vedanta Limited, marking it as one of the largest in India’s multimodal logistics sector. This four-year contract, effective until 2028, involves the transportation of various materials, including aluminium ingots and wire rods, from Vedanta’s Jharsuguda plants to key export ports and major domestic hubs across India.
This contract underscores Vedanta's confidence in Western Carriers' capabilities in delivering efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions. With a pan-India presence supported by over 50 branches and 16 warehouses, WCIL is poised to leverage its expansive network and advanced technology to optimize supply chain operations. In the first nine months of FY25, the company reported revenues of ₹1,297 crore and a profit after tax of ₹68 crore, indicating a robust operational performance. This partnership with Vedanta could enhance WCIL's market position and drive potential growth opportunities in the logistics industry.
