L&T Finance Limited has announced a proposed acquisition of the gold loan business from Paul Merchants Finance Pvt. Ltd. for a total consideration of ₹537 crore. This move allows L&T Finance to enter a high-yield segment, enhancing its portfolio of secured retail products. The acquisition grants access to approximately 98,000 active customers, 700 employees, and 130 strategically located branches in under-penetrated markets across northern India. Completion is anticipated by Q2 FY2025-26, contingent on requisite approvals. This strategic expansion is expected to bolster L&T Finance’s operational capabilities, promoting a potentially favorable outlook among investors as it aligns with the company's growth objectives.
