07-02-2025 | 05:55 pm

Oil India Limited reported its financial results for the quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2024.

Consolidated revenue from operations reached ₹9,089.14 crore, marking a substantial growth from ₹8,886.87 crore for the same period last year, indicating a revenue growth of approximately 2.3%. This growth can be attributed to increased demand and improved operational efficiencies in its oil and gas segments.

Net profit for the quarter was ₹1,457.20 crore, a decline compared to ₹2,069.16 crore a year ago. This results in earnings per share (EPS) of ₹8.23 versus ₹12.40 in the previous year, influenced by higher operational costs and exceptional items amounting to ₹2,362.72 crore associated with service tax and GST liabilities.

Operational costs increased, with total expenses reaching ₹7,538.55 crore, reflecting a year-over-year rise largely driven by higher prices in raw materials and statutory levies. The company has made provisions of ₹199.95 crore in the quarter for disputed service tax/GST related to royalties.

From a balance sheet perspective, the debt-to-equity ratio stood at 0.51, indicating manageable leverage levels. Cash flows remained stable, supporting operational commitments and potential growth investments without excessive reliance on external funding.

In terms of outlook, Oil India Limited is focused on mitigating operational costs while seeking opportunities for expansion within its segments. Market sentiment remains cautiously optimistic, buttressed by stable oil prices but tempered by regulatory uncertainties.

Given the current financial performance and cost management efforts, a hold stance on the stock may be advisable, considering the potential for upside as operational efficiencies are refined and market conditions stabilize.
