Balrampur Chini Mills Limited (BCML) recently reported its Q3 FY25 financial results, demonstrating stability in sugar volumes. For the quarter, revenue from operations was ₹1192.15 crore, down 3.1% year-over-year, while EBITDA increased by 9.2% to ₹123.78 crore. Total comprehensive income decreased by 21.6% to ₹72.36 crore. In the nine-month period, revenue was ₹3911.69 crore, reflecting a 6% decline, with EBITDA declining 23.2% to ₹339.00 crore and comprehensive income dropping by 36.1% to ₹213.41 crore.

The sugar segment showed improved profitability despite adverse weather conditions affecting sugar recovery. The export quota has strengthened domestic prices, supporting a positive outlook. However, the distillery segment faced challenges due to lower alcohol recovery rates.

BCML’s PLA project is progressing as scheduled, with a revised capex of ₹2850 crore. This project signals potential growth and diversification into bioplastics, aligning with sustainability goals and enhancing engagement with the farming community. Overall, while challenges persist, strategic initiatives could drive future value creation for investors.
