Motherson and Sanko Japan have formed a joint venture to provide sustainable packaging solutions in India and Europe. The strategic partnership aims to enhance sustainable material handling solutions across various industries, tapping into growing demand for reusable packaging.
Joint Venture A (JV-A) will be incorporated in India, with Motherson holding a 51% stake, while Sanko retains 49%. Another entity, Joint Venture B (JV-B), will operate in Hungary similarly with a 51% stake held by Motherson’s subsidiary. This collaboration leverages Sanko's engineering expertise and established presence to optimize costs and align with Motherson's decarbonization goals.
The joint ventures are positioned to transform packaging from a commodity into an engineered solution, contributing to overall logistics efficiency. Both companies anticipate significant opportunities for growth, given their combined capabilities and market reach.
