05-02-2025 | 08:29 pm

Revenue from operations for Reliance Power Limited reached ₹1,85,284 crore for the quarter, reflecting a year-over-year decline of approximately 4.4%. Total income for the quarter amounted to ₹2,15,944 crore. This drop in revenue could be attributed to fluctuations in power demand and the ongoing challenges within the energy sector.

Net profit for the quarter stood at ₹4,195 crore, a significant turnaround compared to a loss of ₹1,13,675 crore during the same period last year. The Earnings Per Share (EPS) for this quarter was ₹0.104, marking a notable recovery in profitability, primarily driven by a gain of ₹3,23,042 crore from the deconsolidation of a subsidiary, as well as a reduction in operational losses.

Operational costs increased slightly to ₹2,10,956 crore, mainly due to higher fuel expenses, though the overall cost management strategy appears effective with a focus on operational efficiencies. The finance costs decreased from previous quarters, contributing positively to the overall profitability.

On the balance sheet front, Reliance Power reported a net worth of ₹16,217 crore and a lower debt-to-equity ratio of 0.86:1, down from 1.61:1 in the previous fiscal year, indicating an improved financial health and reduced leverage.

Looking ahead, the company continues to focus on strengthening its market position, investing in renewable energy projects, and enhancing operational efficiencies. Investor sentiment seems cautiously optimistic given the recent operational improvements and strategic initiatives.

Based on the financial performance and outlook, a hold stance is advisable for investors interested in Reliance Power.
