Shree Rama Newsprint LimitedImportant, 05-02-2025: Financial Result Updates

05-02-2025 | 02:13 pm

Consolidated financials for Shree Rama Newsprint Limited reveal total income of ₹1,369.67 crore, marking a year-over-year growth of approximately 36.7%. This surge in revenue can be attributed to increasing demand in the bottled water segment, alongside improvements in operational efficiencies.

The net profit stands at a loss of ₹695.98 crore, a significant deterioration compared to the previous year's loss of ₹768.26 crore, resulting in an Earnings Per Share (EPS) of negative ₹0.47. The ongoing losses are partly influenced by high operational costs, particularly an impairment loss of ₹69.56 crore on discontinued operations related to the Paper Division, which continues to impact profitability.

Total operational costs increased to ₹2,065.65 crore, which represents a significant rise from the prior period, reflecting challenges in cost management, including raw material prices and employee expenses. The company has faced ongoing challenges in controlling its costs, as seen in the substantial financial losses.

On the balance sheet, the company continues to manage its debt levels, although the impact of operational losses raises concerns over liquidity and long-term sustainability. The cash flow statement indicates strains on cash reserves, further complicating its strategic positioning in an increasingly competitive market.

The outlook remains cautious. Investors should consider holding positions in light of the financial performance and the company's ongoing restructuring efforts. The strategic focus on the bottled water segment may provide growth opportunities, contingent on effective cost control and the successful disposal of discontinued operations.
