JSW Energy has received a letter of award from West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited for the development and operation of a 1,600 MW (2x800 MW) super/ultra super critical coal-based thermal power plant. This project was secured through a competitive bidding process and will utilize domestic coal allocated under the SHAKTI B (iv) policy. Following this capacity addition, JSW Energy's total generation capacity reaches a significant 30 GW, with thermal capacity accounting for 9 GW. The company aims to achieve a total generation capacity of 20 GW ahead of its 2030 target, positioning itself for future growth. The market presence and diversified energy portfolio put the company in a favorable position within the industry.
