Gandhar Oil Refinery (India) Ltd has announced a board meeting to review its financial results for the quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2024. The consolidated financial results reveal total revenue of ₹293.52 crore, showing a decline of 7.66% from ₹313.74 crore in the previous year, primarily driven by decreased demand in key markets.

Net profit for the period stands at ₹20.42 crore, a decrease of 60.22% year-over-year from ₹51.32 crore, resulting in a diluted EPS of ₹1.98, down from ₹5.47. The drop in profitability is attributed to higher operational costs, including a significant rise in material consumption, which accounted for ₹258.47 crore, representing a 5.23% increase.

In analyzing operational costs, total expenses rose to ₹298.06 crore, leading to a profit margin squeeze. The tight cost management reflects challenges faced in the current environment, affecting overall efficiency.

On the balance sheet, the company shows robust health with total assets increasing to ₹12,767.79 crore. Cash flow remains stable as the company's funding for working capital needs continues without adverse impacts on liquidity.

Looking ahead, the company is pursuing strategic consolidation through a proposed merger with its wholly-owned subsidiary, Gandhar Shipping & Logistics Pvt. Ltd. This move aims to streamline operations and improve resource allocation, potentially enhancing market positioning.

Given the recent challenges and positive strategic plans, consider holding shares in light of potential recovery and long-term growth implications stemming from the merger.
