The Committee of Directors on Investment at POWERGRID has approved two significant projects aimed at enhancing the transmission infrastructure to support offshore wind energy in Gujarat. The first project involves creating a 400kV switchyard and installing two 1500MVA transformers associated with the transmission system for Offshore Wind Zone Phase-1, at a projected cost of ₹319.42 crore, expected to be operational by February 2026.

The second project focuses on adding transmission systems to ensure redundant power supply to the Dholera area, costing approximately ₹109.74 crore, with a commissioning date aligned for March 2026, coinciding with the first project's constraints.
