Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Limited has announced a board meeting and reported its financial results for the quarter and nine months ending December 31, 2024.
Consolidated total revenue from operations rose to ₹ 6,837 Cr, reflecting a 36% increase year-over-year. Key growth drivers include a significant 15% rise in disbursements, particularly in the Vehicle Finance and Loan Against Property segments, which saw growth rates of 16% and 23%, respectively. Net income also surged by 37%, reaching ₹ 3,541 Cr for the quarter.
Profit After Tax (PAT) for the quarter stood at ₹ 1,088 Cr, a 24% increase compared to the same quarter last year. Earnings Per Share (EPS) increased to ₹ 12.95, up from ₹ 10.40 in Q3 FY24.
Operating expenses rose to ₹ 5,372 Cr, a 34% year-over-year increase, with finance costs accounting for a significant portion. The company reported a notable increase in loan losses, which nearly doubled to ₹ 664 Cr.
On the balance sheet, total assets reached ₹ 1,92,624 Cr, with a strong capital adequacy ratio of 19.76%. The company maintains a robust liquidity position, with ₹ 15,159 Cr in cash and undrawn lines amounting to ₹ 15,677 Cr, showcasing confident operational health.
The outlook remains strong given the robust revenue growth and operational improvements; however, increased loan losses and rising NPAs could pose challenges ahead. Investors may consider a "buy" given the growth trajectory and strong market positioning.
