Net profit for Punjab National Bank (PNB) surged by 102.8% year-on-year to ₹4,508 Crore in Q3 FY'25, compared to ₹2,223 Crore in Q3 FY'24. Return on Assets (RoA) improved to 1.03%, while Return on Equity (RoE) rose to 19.22%. Net Interest Income (NII) increased by 7.2% to ₹11,032 Crore. The GNPA ratio improved significantly to 4.09% from 6.24% a year earlier, and the NNPA ratio dropped to 0.41% from 0.96%. Global Business expanded by 15.25% to ₹26.39 lakh Crore, with global deposits growing 15.58% to ₹15.30 lakh Crore. Notably, CASA deposits also increased by 2.7%, indicating solid growth in the bank's deposit base.
In terms of asset quality, GNPA decreased by ₹14,957 Crore to ₹45,414 Crore, and NNPA fell by ₹4,379 Crore to ₹4,437 Crore. The bank's Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR) improved to 15.41%, signaling a stronger capital position. With a positive outlook driven by strong deposit growth and improved asset quality, investors may see considerable opportunities in PNB's performance trajectory.
