Total Income for the quarter reached ₹3,164 crores, reflecting an 18% growth year-over-year, while the nine-month total increased by 28% to ₹10,890 crores. This growth was driven by a robust performance in Unitary Cooling Products, which leads the market in both Split and Window air conditioners, and the recovery in Electro-Mechanical Projects, aided by completion of ongoing contracts.

Net profit for the quarter surged to ₹131 crores, compared to a loss of ₹28 crores last year, yielding earnings per share (EPS) of ₹3.99. For the nine-month period, net profit climbed to ₹599 crores, up from ₹137 crores, which is the highest in the company’s history. Such profitability improvements are attributed to operational efficiencies and a favorable market landscape.

Operational costs grew at a moderate pace, with total expenses for the quarter at ₹2,941 crores, marking a 12% increase. The escalation in costs was primarily linked to rising material costs and employee expenses. The company's ability to manage these increases suggests a strong cost management strategy.

The balance sheet remains healthy, with significant assets attributed to the robust Unitary Cooling Products segment, which accounted for ₹7,155 crores in revenue for the nine months. The cash flow position is stable, allowing flexibility for future growth initiatives.

Outlook indicates continued focus on market expansion and innovation, particularly within the cooling segment and emerging projects. Market sentiment remains positive, with potential for sustained performance driven by ongoing demand in the HVAC space.

Given the robust financial performance and strategic positioning, the insight is to consider a buy position on Voltas, particularly as the company is expected to leverage favorable market conditions moving forward.
