Bank of India — Important, 24-01-2025: Financial Result Updates
For the quarter ended December 31, 2024, Bank of India reported consolidated total income of ₹20,09,768 crore, up from ₹16,52,083 crore, marking an increase of approximately 21.5% year-over-year. Key drivers of this growth include higher interest earned on advances and improved income from investments, reflecting increased market demand and effective operational management.
The consolidated net profit for the quarter stood at ₹2,63,672 crore, compared to ₹1,93,048 crore in the same period last year, resulting in an impressive year-over-year growth of about 36.4%. This growth can be attributed to effective cost control measures and a reduction in provisioning for non-performing assets (NPA), which was ₹3,52,456 crore.
Operating expenses for the quarter saw a slight increase of around 2%, influenced by higher employee costs and operational efficiencies. However, total expenses (excluding provisions and contingencies) increased at a slower pace, demonstrating that cost management strategies were effective.
The balance sheet reflects sound health with total assets of ₹10,45,40,292 crore and a stable capital adequacy ratio of 16%. The return on assets improved to 0.87%, indicating enhanced profitability.
Investor sentiment remains cautiously optimistic. With strong financial performance and robust growth drivers, the outlook favors a ‘buy’ for investors seeking opportunistic investments, given the potential for sustained growth and profitability in the upcoming quarters.
