Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has signed a Share Purchase and Subscription Agreement to acquire a 90.5% stake in Uprising Science Private Limited, which operates the brand Minimalist, for a cash consideration of INR 2,670 crores and a primary infusion of INR 45 crores. This strategic acquisition aims to enhance HUL's Beauty & Wellbeing portfolio by tapping into the fast-growing demand for premium, science-led beauty products. The acquisition is projected to close in Q1 FY 2026, with plans to eventually acquire the remaining 9.5% stake in two years. Minimalist has rapidly scaled to an annual revenue run rate of over INR 500 crores, driven by its commitment to efficacy and transparency in beauty care.
