20-01-2025 | 06:24 pm

Jammu and Kashmir Bank has reported its financial performance for the quarter and nine months ending December 31, 2024. The bank witnessed a total revenue of ₹3,451.71 crore (cr) during the quarter, reflecting a growth of approximately 12.25% compared to ₹3,066.97 cr year-over-year. Key drivers of this revenue increase include higher interest earned on advances and investments, indicating robust demand in both retail and corporate segments.

The net profit for the quarter stood at ₹531.92 cr, marking a significant rise from ₹421.79 cr in the same period last year, translating to an EPS of ₹4.80. This improvement in profitability can be attributed to effective cost management, with operating expenses increasing at a slower rate than income growth. The provision for non-performing assets (NPA) amounted to ₹22.76 cr, reflecting the bank's proactive approach in asset management.

Operational costs decreased by 5% to ₹2,703.05 cr, signalling enhanced cost efficiency in operations. The bank's balance sheet remains robust, with total assets at ₹161,741.53 cr, up from ₹154,504.58 cr. This growth in assets aligns with increased deposits and improved lending performance.

Looking ahead, the bank is expected to focus on expanding its retail and digital banking operations, leveraging its solid capital position and improving asset quality. Overall, based on the positive trends in financial performance and cost management, it is suggested that investors consider holding their positions in the stock while monitoring for further developments in growth strategies and NPA management.
