JSW Steel reported record quarterly consolidated crude steel production of 7.03 million tonnes for Q3 FY25, reflecting a 4% increase sequentially and a 2% year-on-year rise. Notably, the Indian operations contributed 6.82 million tonnes, a 3% improvement QoQ and YoY, with capacity utilization at 91%. This quarter's production was slightly hindered by temporary maintenance at the Dolvi facility, which is now back to normal operations.
The company is progressing well with its 5 MTPA integrated steel project at Vijayanagar, where the ramp-up is expected in Q4 FY25 following the commissioning of various components. Once fully operational, total crude steel capacity at Vijayanagar will rise to 17.5 MTPA, enhancing overall capacity from 29.2 MTPA to 34.2 MTPA. For the nine months of FY25, consolidated production stands at 20.16 million tonnes, compared to 19.63 million tonnes in the previous year. This strong performance positions JSW Steel favorably in the marketplace, suggesting potential growth ahead.
