Hindustan Copper Limited — Updates, 10-01-2025: Press Release
Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) has appointed South West Mining Limited (SWML) as the Mine Developer cum Operator for the reopening and expansion of the Rakha Copper Mine, alongside developing a new underground mine at Chapri and commissioning a new concentrator plant. This agreement spans 20 years and can be extended for an additional 10 years. The Rakha Mine had been inactive since 2001 due to unviable operations. The total capital expenditure for the project is estimated at approximately ₹2,700 Cr, with the potential to generate around 10,000 direct and indirect jobs. This strategic move could significantly enhance HCL's operational capacity and market position, contributing to a positive outlook for the company. Investors should watch closely for developments as this project unfolds.
