04-01-2025 | 01:08 pm

Bank of Baroda has reported consolidated assets of ₹1,72,474 crore, with total income (net of interest expenses) amounting to ₹37,407 crore and a profit after tax of ₹10,082 crore. This reflects a solid growth trajectory, with income up from ₹60,836 crore in the previous fiscal year, aided by an increase in retail and corporate advances. The bank's gross non-performing assets (GNPA) ratio stands at 2.5%, showcasing an improvement from 2.92% in the previous quarter.

The operational costs have remained stable, supporting a return on assets (ROA) of 1.19%, which, although slightly lower than the previous year's 1.18%, indicates sound profitability management. The bank’s overall capital adequacy ratio (CAR) is at a robust 16.67%, demonstrating adequate capitalization to support growth and absorb potential losses.

Strategically, Bank of Baroda continues to emphasize growth in its retail segment, which now constitutes a significant portion of its advances. The sentiment in the banking sector remains stable, underpinned by government support and a strong market position.

Investor insight suggests a hold position due to the bank's solid financial metrics and improving asset quality, but caution is warranted concerning the overall economic climate and potential risk factors in the MSME and agriculture sectors.
