Vedanta Limited reported robust production figures for the third quarter, highlighting record outputs across multiple segments.
Aluminium production reached 614,000 tonnes in 3Q, marking a 3% year-over-year increase. Alumina output surged by 16% to 1.54 million tonnes for the nine-month period, driven by enhanced production efficiency. Zinc India also set a record, achieving 783,000 tonnes of refined metal, up 3% year-over-year, while mined metal production increased by 3% quarter-over-quarter due to improved grades.
Oil & Gas production averaged 99.4 kboepd, down 19% year-over-year, reflecting challenges in certain blocks. However, growth at the Jaya discovery in the OALP segment is showing promise. Ferrous minerals saw a strong 10% rise in saleable iron ore production to 1.5 million tonnes.
The positive outlook on production across sectors positions Vedanta for a strategic advantage, despite challenges in oil production. Investors should watch performance in the coming quarters to gauge ongoing operational efficiencies.
