Reliance Power Limited — Updates, 01-01-2025: Press Release
Sasan Power Limited, a subsidiary of Reliance Power, has made a significant bullet payment of US$150 million to IIFCL, fulfilling its debt obligation. This repayment enhances Sasan Power's debt coverage metrics, liquidity, and credit rating. The 3960 MW Ultra Mega Power Plant in Madhya Pradesh, recognized as the largest integrated coal-based facility globally, supplies electricity at the lowest tariff in India, benefiting over 40 crore people across several states.
The repayment also strengthens Reliance Power's balance sheet as the company shifts its focus towards renewable energy, expected to drive future growth. Recently, Reliance Power raised ₹1,525 crore through equity-linked warrants, increasing its net worth to over ₹15,000 crore. This strategic move positions the company well to seize opportunities in the expanding renewable energy sector. Overall, the company demonstrates a positive outlook as it balances its coal-based operations with a new vision for sustainable growth.
