SJVN has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Bihar for the development of the 1000 MW Hathidah Durgawati Pumped Storage Project (PSP). This project, alongside other PSPs in Bihar, is projected to create approximately 5,000 jobs and attract an investment of around ₹10,000 crore. SJVN, designated as the nodal agency by the Ministry of Power for developing PSPs in Bihar, has already initiated studies and feasibility assessments for several projects allocated to it. The Hathidah Durgawati PSP, proposed on the Durgawati River in Kaimur district, is set to achieve a daily peak energy generation of 6.325 Million Units, contributing to an annual peak of 2,308.65 Million Units. The estimated cost of this project is ₹5,663 crore, with a levelized tariff of ₹9.39 per kWh. This strategic development positions SJVN as a key player in the renewable energy sector, presenting a positive outlook for future growth and investment opportunities.
