Cochin Shipyard Limited — Important, 27-12-2024: Updates

Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), has secured a significant order from Ocean Sparkle Limited, part of the Adani Group. The order entails the construction of eight 70 T Bollard Pull ASD Tugs, with deliveries set to start in December 2026 and complete by August 2028. This adds to three similar tugs already under construction, bringing the total to eleven.

These tugs, designed by Robert Allan Limited, will be constructed in line with the Approved Standard Tug Design and Specifications (ASTDS), promoting India's Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiative. UCSL's order book has surpassed ₹2000 crore, driven by a revival since CSL's takeover in 2020. The shipyard is also engaged in broader projects, including general and dry cargo vessels for international clients. This order enhances UCSL's position in the maritime sector and signals a positive outlook for CSL's future operations.
