Subansiri Lower HE Project is projected to have three units (250 MW each) completed by May 2025, with the remaining five units scheduled for completion by May 2026 in a phased manner. Meanwhile, the Teesta-V Power Station has faced challenges due to natural calamities. The flash flood on October 4, 2023, resulted in damages estimated at Rs. 1,075.97 Crore, comprising Rs. 538.70 Crore for material damage and Rs. 537.27 Crore for business interruption losses. An on-account payment of Rs. 150 Crore has already been received, with another Rs. 250 Crore pending approval from the insurer. Additionally, a landslide on August 20, 2024, has led to an initial loss assessment of Rs. 327.67 Crore for material damage. Restoration efforts are currently underway, including major contracts for civil and mechanical repairs. The situation presents both risks and opportunities moving forward, warranting careful observation by stakeholders.
