Waaree Energies Limited — Important, 23-12-2024: General Updates
The Board of Directors of Waaree Energies Ltd. approved significant capital expenditures and investments for new manufacturing facilities. A total of Rs. 551 crores has been allocated for a 300 MW electrolyser manufacturing plant under its subsidiary Waaree Clean Energy Solutions, with Rs. 200 crores earmarked specifically for investment. Additionally, Rs. 2,073 crores and Rs. 650 crores will be invested in a 3.5 GWh lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing plant through Waaree Energy Storage Solutions. There’s also a Rs. 130 crores investment in the inverter business via Waaree Power, with Waaree Energies contributing up to Rs. 40 crores.
In personnel changes, Dr. Arvind Ananthanarayanan has resigned from the board effective immediately, citing personal commitments. Mr. Amit Ashok Paithankar has been appointed as an Additional Director and Whole-time Director for five years, effective immediately. His extensive experience in engineering and management is expected to support Waaree’s growth strategy in the renewable energy sector.
