L&T Precision Engineering & Systems has secured a significant contract from the Ministry of Defence to supply K9 Vajra-T Artillery Platforms to the Indian Army. This 155 mm, 52-calibre tracked self-propelled artillery system, adapted from South Korea's K9 Thunder, is designed for various terrains. L&T successfully delivered the first batch of 100 units ahead of schedule, showcasing its strong capabilities in developing complex defense systems.

The new batch will be manufactured at the Armoured Systems Complex in Hazira, Gujarat, a facility established to bolster India's defense manufacturing capabilities with support from several MSME partners. L&T aims to enhance self-reliance in defense through indigenously produced equipment. This contract not only strengthens L&T's foothold in the defense sector but also aligns with the broader initiative of "Aatmanirbhar Bharat."
