ixigo has launched a new feature called “Travel Guarantee,” aimed at enhancing convenience for train travelers with waitlisted tickets. This feature allows passengers to receive a refund of three times their ticket fare if their waitlisted ticket remains unconfirmed at the time of chart preparation. This initiative is particularly beneficial during peak travel seasons when securing tickets often leads to long waitlists.

Passengers can opt for this feature for a small fee on selected trains and classes through the ixigo Trains app. If a ticket remains waitlisted, they will receive a refund of 1X to their original payment method, plus a 2X refund in the form of a Travel Guarantee Coupon for future bookings on flights, trains, or buses via ixigo. This enhances user flexibility, allowing them to explore alternative modes of transport without the worry of last-minute fare hikes.
