Bharti Airtel Limited — Updates, 18-12-2024: Press Release
Airtel has partnered with the Indian Army to enhance connectivity in villages within the Kupwara, Baramulla, and Bandipore districts along the Line of Control in North Kashmir. The deployment of 15 mobile towers will improve communication for both local populations and soldiers in the area, facilitating family contact and operational coordination.
Under the PM Vibrant Village Programme, villages including Kachhal, Balbir, and others are now connected to broader communication networks. As the sole private telecom operator in these regions, Airtel aims to bolster network services in remote military bases, having recently also established connectivity in the Galwan River area and Daulat Beg Oldie, India's northernmost military outpost. This initiative reflects Airtel's commitment to improving infrastructure and connectivity in challenging terrains, which could enhance its competitive edge and foster valuable relationships with government entities. Investors should monitor this strategic move which may signify potential growth opportunities.
