Lupin has acquired anti-diabetes trademarks GIBTULIO®, GIBTULIO MET®, and AJADUO® from Boehringer Ingelheim to enhance its diabetes treatment portfolio in India. The transfer of trademark rights is expected to be completed by March next year. Lupin has been co-marketing GIBTULIO® and GIBTULIO MET® since 2016 and AJADUO® since 2018.

These brands are part of the SGLT-2 inhibitor class, crucial for improving glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes. With a significant diabetic population in India, estimated at 80 million, this acquisition reinforces Lupin’s strategy to provide effective and affordable treatment options.
