Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has emerged as the successful bidder for two significant projects under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework. The first project involves creating a 400kV transmission system to facilitate power evacuation from Kudankulam Units 3 and 4 (2x1000MW), which will include a transmission line traversing Tamil Nadu and necessary terminal equipment at Tuticorin-II substation. The second project focuses on strengthening the system at Koppal-II and Gadag-II in Karnataka to support the integration of renewable energy generation projects, featuring a 400kV transmission line and an increase in transformation capacity for ongoing substations at both locations. Letters of Intent for these projects have already been received, indicating a positive outlook for POWERGRID’s operational expansion and potential revenue generation.
