On National Energy Conservation Day, Marico Limited reported that 67.4% of its energy needs are met through renewable sources. The company has achieved significant milestones, including a transition to bio-based briquettes that provide over 90% of its thermal energy requirements. Marico aims to attain net-zero emissions in India by 2030 and globally by 2040, achieving a 79% reduction in direct GHG emissions and a 71% decrease in energy intensity compared to the FY13 baseline. Its Perundurai facility remains certified as ‘carbon neutral’ for four consecutive years. The Sanand unit has notably increased its renewable energy usage by 2.8 times in FY24.
