Hyundai Motor India Ltd. plans to install nearly 600 public EV fast charging stations across India over the next seven years, enhancing its charging network significantly. By December 2024, the company anticipates having 50 fast charging stations in operation covering key highways and major urban areas. Currently, over 10,000 EV customers have utilized HMIL’s existing infrastructure, accounting for more than 7.30 lakh units of energy dispensed.

The initiative, which aligns with the anticipated growth of the EV market, aims to alleviate customer concerns about long-distance electric vehicle travel due to inadequate charging facilities. As part of this effort, HMIL has partnered with the Tamil Nadu government to establish 100 charging stations throughout the state by 2027, with 10 stations expected to be operational by the end of 2024.

Customers can access over 10,000 charging points nationwide through the myHyundai app, making travel across the country more accessible for EV owners. HMIL's advanced charging stations will be strategically located for convenience, featuring amenities to enhance user experience, and are compatible with all 4W EVs manufactured in India, promoting wider adoption of electric vehicles.
